WHO WE ARE

Living Water Ministries of the Palm Beaches is a 501c3 nonprofit organization that is committed to impacting the lives of the people in Northwest Haiti. 100% of all funds you donate are committed to the mission field as all overhead is supported by our dedicated board members of this great ministry.

OUR MISSION

Our mission is simple, we want to change lives! Lives just like yours and mine that live every day in extreme poverty without any hope or means to improve their situation. Food, Water, Clothing, Medical Care, Hope… the basic Spiritual and Physical necessities of life elude the families of northwest Haiti. Our mission is to change this.

There are multiple facets within this organization all centered around assisting the people of Northwest Haiti to progress from the rigors of abject poverty. Our Mission is to reach out to meet the spiritual needs of the people in Haiti, to mentor them, and to help them mature in their knowledge and understanding. To address their physical needs such as food, clean water, clothing, housing, and private enterprise. To accomplish these goals by providing churches, formal education, medical attention, and infrastructure that will bring a self-sufficient life style.

SCHOOL LUNCH PROGRAM

It only costs $1.00 per day to feed 10 children. Your generous monthly gift will bring HOPE to the Hopeless. Such a small amount of money can rescue a child from starvation and will give a child a chance to live a healthy, productive life. We have ministry partners that match your donation by 75% which means your $1.00 per day becomes $4.00 per day.

We all know that children are starving all over the world including those in our own backyard. Knowing this can make it seem that no matter what we do, it will never be enough. We tell ourselves that I am only one person whose small donation cannot begin to make a difference. At Living Water Ministries that statement just is NOT TRUE!

Over the last 12 years, Living Water Ministries has gradually increased the number of children that receive a vitamin enriched meal at school each day. Feed My Starving Children (FMSC), located in Minnesota, supplies the food that we distribute to the schools. We made the decision to add rice and beans to be able to give each child a larger portion so it will fill their little stomachs and satisfy their hunger.

Why do we do this? In the remote villages of NW Haiti, families typically eat one meal per day. The amount of food they have is not enough for everyone in the family to satisfy their hunger. By feeding the students at school, the family has more food at home for the adults to eat. The parents explain that they want to be able to work to earn money to take care of the necessities for their family, but it is difficult to work when they are hungry.

God has blessed this program. The children are healthy. Their level of learning at school is increasing. The parents have enough food at home to give them the strength to perform the manual labor it takes to earn a living.

INFORMATIONAL MEETINGS

To learn more about this wonderful organization, we would like to offer you an opportunity to attend one of our information meetings.
You will hear from representatives that have been to this mission field and want only to share with you the wonderful things that God is doing in Northwest Haiti.
We will not ask you for any kind of commitment at these meetings, they are informative only.
You can also host an event! It is as easy as raising your hand.
If you are interested in learning more let us know.

MISSION TRIPS

How then can they call on the one they have not believed in?  And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard?  And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?  And how can they preach unless they are sent?  As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!” - Romans 10:14-15

WE DO THIS THROUGH:

7 – 10 day mission trips:

    • Pre-trip planning meetings will provide information to help prepare you for what you will see and experience.
    • Team members raise funds for trip projects.
    • LWM will make all flight arrangements and arrange for all accommodations while you are in Haiti.
    • Fly into Port au Prince and travel to the Northwest.
    • Visit remote villages.
    • LWM Campus serves as the home base with comfortable accommodations.

    Short Term Projects may include:

    FOUNDERS AND BOARD MEMBERS

Fred Chalker – Founder / CEO
In April 1986, Fred felt the need to find out why people were risking their lives and the lives of their families to try to sail from Haiti to the US in rickety old sail boats.  His trip to the Northwest showed the deplorable living conditions of the people.  The lack of food and water, the desert-like environment, and the barren hillsides that could not provide a means for the people to earn any type of living brought reality to the sense of hopelessness the people were experiencing.    Fred accepted the call of the Lord to take the love of Christ to the people. He was the co-leader of Living Water Northwest Haiti Ministry from 1986 until 2001 when he became the Founder of Living Water Ministries of the Palm Beaches.    He is a graduate of Hartford University and Wards School of Electronics.  His working career includes 15 years at IBM, 15 years as the owner of South Florida Coffee Company, 20+ years in real estate investments and owner of Carousel Antique Center.   Fred’s life and activities have been one continual witness and devotion to the spread of the Word of God to the people he encounters both locally and internationally.

    PASTOR JACKLIN ETIENNE – ADMINISTRATOR
Pastor Etienne was born into a Christian family in 1959.  He confirmed his faith in Jesus Christ when he was baptized in 1981. He completed the required 14 years of study to be eligible to attend the University in Haiti. He spent four years at the Ethnology Faculty where he studied sociology, anthropology, and accounting. He then attended the Theological University where he received a BA degree and a Master of Divinity degree.    He lives in Port au Prince with his wife. Etienne became involved with Living Water Northwest Haiti Ministry that later became Living Water Ministries of the Palm Beaches.  As the Living Water Ministries Administrator, he oversees all the projects, programs, villages, and personnel that are part of this organization.  Pastor travels from Port au Prince to the LWM Campus in Ti-Lagon at least once every month.  He is well known and respected throughout the villages. Above all, he is sealed by the Holy Spirit of God which enables him to be a son of the living God and called to proclaim the good news of salvation in Jesus Christ.
