Devastating Earthquake,

As most of you know Haiti was hit with several major earthquakes! The devastation is widespread and the conditions are beyond anything you can imagine.

Feed My Starving Children has provided us with almost 25 tons of food which will be specially designated for the earthquake victims and will be delivered ASAP. All we need are the funds to get it there! Can you help by making a donation of any size?

Other Relief Needs

Friends, thank you for the outpouring of support for LWM over the past weeks. You have enabled us to reach out to many desperate people in the city of Port au Prince. Pastor Etienne has found a food depot that was seriously damaged by the earthquake and is selling all its food before it is looted or destroyed. He is mixing a #10 can of beans, a #10 can of corn with 1 ½ #10 cans of rice in plastic bags and distributing them with a water bottle full of cooking oil and some bottled water to those that are living in the open streets. Saturday he had to take two policemen with him and they were still overwhelmed by the crowd. From this point forward we will change our method of distribution. We will bring the food and items to many of the churches we know and ask the church leadership to distribute the food to their congregation. This is a safe and effective way to reach out to meet the hunger problem.

We have a full container of vitamin and mineral enriched food (275,000 prepackaged servings) from Feed My Starving Children in Minnesota that is in Miami where it will be shipped through the Dominican Republic this week. We will also have a container of dried pinto beans and a second container of food from FMSC on it's way soon.

As you know Living Water Ministries uses 100% of the money you donate to help the people in Haiti. Some of your money is used to cover the costs of shipping the containers but without your donations, we would not have the financial resources to send this food to the people. You are critical to the task of meeting the needs of these desperate people.

We are gathering needed supplies at a warehouse in West Palm Beach to ship over ASAP. A list of the items we will accept appears below. You may reply to this email for details about how to deliver the items to us. Those items are:

Tents, tarps, ropes, working generators, working motorcycles or scooters, gas cans, shovels, buckets, Crocs, jackknives, garbage can liners, flashlights, batteries, matches, pots & pans, large spoons, silverware, towels, blankets, sheets, bottled water, canned food with pull tabs, rice, beans, peanut butter, jelly, powdered baby formula, cloth diapers, plastic pants, baby wipes, gauze, Neosporin/Bacitracin, Peroxide, Alcohol (for medical uses), Kotex, bar soap, tooth brushes, tooth paste, band aids.

Unbelievable living conditions

A Board member just returned from Haiti after being asked to visit an "orphanage" there. What he found was very distressing. Below are the facts from the chairman of the Board. We need to build these children a safe place and bring them to our property where we can feed them and get them in school. We estimate the cost to be approximate $20,000.00 to build adequate shelter and to transport them and to feed and clothe them. lf you can help please do, every dollar helps. WHAT WE KNOW:

  • The children are all 14 years and under.
  • There seems to be no clothes anywhere that Jon could see.
  • There is no additional food available.
  • The building is cement, but is small dirty and insufficient.
  • There is very little over site or care for the children.
  • There seems to be no positive spiritual influence.
  • They probably get minimal if any health care.
  • Jon was told there are many more children who are currently in PAP-We do not know any more about them.
  • There is an overwhelming odor of human waste that even effects the surrounding areas.
  • The picture of the child's head is both showing that the scalp is covered with some kind of disease and there were flies landing continually on his head.
  • We do not know much about Maxo the owner but we do know his wife left him and he is alone with the children. Jon was told he has a drinking problem. Jon felt that the orphanage was probably a means of support for him rather than a humanitarian effort.
  • We do not know exactly where the children come from or what formal authority Maxo has over them.
  • They are not being taught any job skills or being shown how to live the rest of there life in the world around them.
  • We do not know if we can take them to a better, safer environment but Jon strongly suggests with get them to a safe place where they can be raised.
  • We need a place on the land to bring kids like these.

God's lost children of Haiti

Help! How can anyone just sit back? Can anyone be that cold towards their fellow man? We are all brothers and sisters in Christ. We think that they (anyone in need) can help themselves. We have not been any further from the truth! Unfortunately, they cannot, due to circumstances beyond their control, they lack the funds, resources, and the means.

Starving! This is where Jesus commands us to "love one another with no restrictions love your neighbor as yourself." Imagine, if you can, a world where everyone helps one another. Instead of stepping on the back of your down and out neighbor, lend a helping hand, extend your arm, and say let me help you. Wow! What a world it would be!


Destitute!With conditions in Haiti deplorable at best, one has to stop and wonder where God is in this country. The answer to that is He's everywhere, waiting for people like us (You and Me) to help, to do our part. In the words of Jesus "I assure you, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!" (Matthew 25:40 NLT). It takes a lot of work, stamina, and money to help this very poor country, but with your help, be it talent, sweat and or money, it can be accomplished for the kingdom of God.
